Is Google Ads right for you?
When every dollar counts, it can be tough to know when to jump into Google Ads—and more importantly, whether they’ll be profitable for your business.
Here are three key questions to help you decide:
1) Are you already generating leads from Google? (And are they the right leads?)
If your business is already getting leads from organic search, that’s a strong sign that Google Ads could work for you! But the real question is: are these the right leads? If the answer is yes, Google Ads can help scale what’s already working. If the answer is no, then probably Google Ads is not the right step just now.
2) Is your offer something people actively search for?
Google is a search engine—so for Google Ads to work, you need a product or service people are already looking for. If you have a brand-new idea, Google Ads might not be the best fit. Instead, from an ads perspective - you might see better results with interruption-based ads like Meta (Facebook & Instagram).
3) Is your website ready to convert? I once had a client whose industry was a perfect fit for Google Ads. But when I reviewed his website, I knew it wouldn’t convert. We focused on improving his user experience (UX), brand strategy, and design—and once his site was ready, the leads he paid for actually turned into customers.
A final (very important) note...It can take a two- three months to properly set up and optimize before you start seeing results which means it is a serious investment. It’s important to have your foundations sorted before investing in Ads: your brand strategy, clarity on your target, your tone of voice, emails etc.
Please, never "just try" Google Ads for two weeks—that’s basically a donation to Google, and none of us want that!!!
